So we purchased this arbor about 3 years ago at Costco. Its real wood and was already stained when we bought it. It looks worse in person thann what the pictures show.
Since I know absolutely nothing about staining or sealing I thought I'd ask for help.
I want to surprise the hubby with a diy project. I want to make this look good again. And I want to do it hopefully, without having to hire someone.
All I know is I have to clean it such as powerwash (use a wood cleaner). Let it dry a day or two. And thats about it. 😂
Now I live in San Antonio, the weather is hot and humid.
Whats next?
Sorry pics doubled.
You have to strip, not clean. Apply the stain stripper and pressure wash off the old coating. Brighten the wood after. Stain with a penetrating stain. TWP 100 Series or Defy Extreme Stain.
