A few years ago we took your advice and applied Defy Extreme Stain to a wolmanized pine deck in Pittsburgh, we relocated to South Central Texas and we are having a Western Red Cedar deck installed. We are wondering what product do you recommend to clean and prepare the deck for staining and what stain should be applied. I see on your website that you like Armstrong Clark and Timber oil. We do have 2 gallons of the Defy Extreme product left over from the Pittsburgh deck, but it is not an oil based.

So what would you suggest.

Thanks for your help

The Defy Extreme wold work well but you will need to let the wood weather for a few months and clean and brighten for the prep before applying. Prep with Defy's products or Restore A Deck Kits. Defy is a water based stain and works very well in climates like Texas.
