Brand new cedar deck. Will be in the sun all day. Temperature in summer is frequently over 100 degrees. The deck builders recommended the usual Behar, Valaspar and Sherwin Williams type stuff. Until I stumbled onto this site I would have bought one of those. I asked them about TWP and Armstrong etc... They claim that those brands will last 6 months more at best over the stuff you can buy at Home Depot or Lowes so why even bother. Thoughts any one? And if so, what would you recommend for an all-day full sun cedar deck in a hot, humid environment.
Thanks!

TWP and AC are substantially better and easier to maintain over anything at Lowes or HD. See here for more info on the top brands: https://www.deckstainhelp.com/the-5-best-deck-stain-reviews-and-ratings/
Thanks. But now i see that there are websites that say waiting to stain your deck is a myth and with today's wood as long as it is clean and dry it should be done right away. Good grief. I never realized all this deck stuff would be so contradictory and confusing!
No, it is not a myth and anyone saying that doesn't understand new wood and the need for waiting. It is not about the wood being dry or clean but about the porosity of the wood. New wood is not porous enough to accept the stain and this could result in premature failure if it cannot properly soak in.
