Staining New Deck On The Salt Water in Western Washing

We live on the salt water in Western Washington - which means RAIN and the effects of salt water added into the equation. We installed a new cedar deck in April of this year. So it has aged almost 5 months. We were hoping to stain it this weekend with a semi-transparent. But - is it too soon?  I don't want to risk poor results and have to worry about stripping it in the Spring  , not only because of the work involved but also the environmental concerns as it butts up to the beach.  Do we wait and not worry about the unprotected wood through our RAINY season and the salt water effects or do we get it stained to protect the wood before winter?

Thank you for any insight and advice!

You can do it now. Try the TWP 100 Series or Defy Extreme stains. Prep with a deck cleaner and light pressure washing. Brighten the wood after.
