Different types of deck stains?

There are 5 different deck stain types. Clear sealer only seals the wood against water. Transparent deck stains are different from clear sealers in that they typically penetrate into the wood and have added mildewcides. Semi-transparent deck stains also penetrate the wood with a light tint that protects against UV damage but allows the natural beauty and grain of the wood to show through. Semi-solid deck stains are thicker and have a darker hue than semi-transparent deck stains, but do not completely cover the wood. Solid deck stains resemble a thin paint that is engineered to stand up against the elements as is necessary when staining a deck. DeckStainHelp.com experts recommend semi-transparent penetratingDeck Stain Non Slip deck stains for most decks.
