STEP 1: PREPARE
Before starting, determine if CUTEK® Wood Reviver is suitable for your specific project. Always test on a small, inconspicuous area first. Wood species and condition can vary greatly, and testing will help you determine the proper dilution, dwell time, and product amount needed.
Safety & Precautions
- Review all hazards and safety guidelines in the Safety Data Sheet before use
- Wear appropriate protective equipment
- Protect all surrounding surfaces and vegetation
- Be mindful of wind drift when rinsing, especially near vehicles or pedestrian areas
- Pre-wet and rinse surrounding areas (plants, concrete, asphalt, etc.) before and after application
How to Apply
CUTEK® Wood Reviver is a powerful wood cleaner and can be used diluted or undiluted depending on the condition of the wood.
Coverage
- Approximately 1 gallon per 200–350 sq. ft.
- Coverage will vary based on:
- Wood density and smoothness
- Severity of staining and weathering
Always test first to confirm proper dilution and effectiveness.
Application Steps
- Pre-wet the wood surface
- Apply generously using:
- Brush
- Roller
- Broom
- Low-pressure garden sprayer
- Allow the product to dwell for 1 to 24 hours, depending on how severe the staining or discoloration is
- For stubborn areas, lightly scrub with a stiff-bristle brush
Removal (Very Important)
- Rinse thoroughly using a pressure washer (approx. 750 PSI / 50 bar) with a fan tip
- Do NOT use a garden hose—it is not sufficient
- Avoid damage to wood fibers:
- Do not use turbo/rotary nozzles
- Adjust pressure and distance as needed
Best practice:
- Start at the highest point and work downward
- Use long, even strokes with the grain
- Continue rinsing until there is little to no sudsing
Note: The longer the product sits, the more rinsing will be required.
After Cleaning
Some woods may develop a raised grain after pressure washing. If this occurs:
- Light sanding or
- Scrubbing with a polishing pad
may be needed to smooth the surface.
Clean-Up
- Clean all equipment with water
- Dispose of rinse water according to local regulations
