What is IPE Wood?
IPE is a gorgeous Brazilian hardwood that is becoming increasingly popular for exterior wood surfaces. This extremely dense wood is naturally resistant to decay and rot, making it a durable choice that can last for decades.
When freshly cut, IPE often appears in shades of reddish-brown and exhibits rich brown color tones. However, one drawback is its tendency to turn silvery-grey over time due to UV exposure. With proper staining and maintenance, you can prevent this and retain its natural beauty.
